County gas prices continue to decline
According to the Cochise College Center for Economic Research’s latest biweekly survey of gas prices, conducted November 14 through November 18, the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in Cochise County decreased from $3.48 to $3.46 over the preceding two-week period. According to AAA Arizona, the statewide price decreased slightly from $3.34 to $3.33 per gallon. Nationally, according to the Energy Information Administration, gas prices decreased from $3.45 to $3.44 during the two-week period.
In Benson, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline decreased slightly from $3.54 to $3.53. In Bisbee, the price dropped from $3.55 to $3.53. The price in Douglas decreased from $3.53 to $3.50 per gallon. In Huachuca City, the price dropped from $3.42 to $3.38. In Sierra Vista, the price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline decreased from $3.38 to $3.36. In Tombstone, the price decreased from $3.41 to $3.38. Willcox saw gas prices decrease slightly from $3.48 to $3.47 during the two-week period.
One year ago, the nationwide average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline, according to the EIA, was $2.89, which is 55 cents lower than its current price. At the state level, according to AAA Arizona, the price a year ago was $2.78, which is 55 cents lower than the current price per gallon. At the county level, according to the CER survey, the price a year ago was $2.81, which is 65 cents lower than the price from the most recent survey.
